The guests were welcomed by Mr. Jerzy Baehr, former President of the Association of Polish Knights of Malta.<\/p>\n<p>The concert was held under the patronage of: H.E. Archbishop Stanis\u0142aw G\u0105decki, Metropolitan of Pozna\u0144; H.E. Niels Carl A. Lorijn, Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Poland; Mr. Micha\u0142 Zieli\u0144ski, Voivode of Wielkopolska; Mr. Marek Wo\u017aniak, Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province; Mr. Jacek Ja\u015bkowiak, President of the City of Pozna\u0144; prof. dr hab. Bogumi\u0142a Kaniewska, Rector of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Pozna\u0144; and prof. dr hab. Andrzej Tykarski, Rector of the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n<p>The star of the evening was the outstanding violinist Konstanty Andrzej Kulka. The Pozna\u0144 Philharmonic Orchestra was conducted by Marek Pijarowski. The program of the concert &#8220;Sensefully and Romantically&#8221; included: Mieczys\u0142aw Kar\u0142owicz &#8211; Violin Concerto in A major op. 8, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy \u2013 Music for a Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream.<\/p>\n<p>During this year&#8217;s concert, Dr Pawe\u0142 Grabowski, founder of the first rural hospice in Podlasie, was honoured with the Maltese Phoenix Award for his outstanding work to provide professional support to dependent people, the terminally ill, and those dying in their homes.
