The Polish Association of the Order of Malta held its annual convention on June 8th at the National Institute of Rural Culture and Heritage in Warsaw. The event began with a solemn Mass at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army, concelebrated by His Excellency Bishop Wiesław Lechowicz and Rev. Father Marek Pieńkowski, Chief Chaplain of the Polish Association of the Order of Malta, together with the Chaplains of the Association.
Ambassador Lorijn as well as his predecessor, Ambassador Vincenzo Manno, and their respective wives were also in attendance. During Holy Mass, the President of the Polish Association the Order of Malta, Jacek Tarnowski, invested two new Knights, raised two members to higher grades within the Order, and bestowed pro Merito Melitensi decorations to persons who have distinguished themselves in their service to the Order.
Following Holy Mass, Ambassador Lorijn was invited to deliver a speech at the beginning of the convention’s proceedings.
