Em. Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, President of the US Episcopate, and Chaplain in Chief of the Order of Malta, American Association, visited Poland and Slovakia to meet with Ukrainians fleeing the Russian military invasion of their homeland.

The Cardinal led a delegation from the Catholic Near East Welfare Association, which supports relief efforts in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The delegation was received by representatives of the Order of Malta in Poland, including Mrs Alexandra Konarska – Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Warsaw, Hanna Wesołowska – Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid, and Robert Szydło, Rescuer of the MSM medical post at the Krakow railway station.

The purpose of the visit was to show solidarity with the people displaced by the war, visit the medical and social centres run by the Order of Malta and other entities in Krakow, Warsaw and along the border with Ukraine, and to express support to the many priests, nuns and lay caregivers, who are doing such critical work to alleviate the pain and suffering of the victims.
