On April 8th, Ambassador Niels Lorijn attended a meeting between representatives of the Polish Bishops’ Conference and the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Poland at the Secretariat of the Polish Episcopate in Warsaw. Under the title “The structure, challenges and relations with civil authorities of the Catholic Church in Poland”.
The main topics discussed included issues related to the religious education in public schools, the Church Fund, and pastoral affairs of the Church in Poland.
Representatives of the Polish Bishops’ Conference included Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference; Archbishop Józef Kupny, Deputy President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference; Archbishop Adrian Galbas SAC, Metropolitan of Warsaw; and Bishop Marek Marczak, Secretary General of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
The Diplomatic Corps was represented by its Dean, Apostolic Nuncio to Poland Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi, and over 30 diplomats, including the ambassadors of Algeria, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Cuba, Czechia, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malta, Mexico, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine and Venezuela.
