One picture is worth a thousand words. But in this case, it is a collection of twenty 130×178 cm paneled photographs on display in the Łazienki park in Warsaw, opposite the office of the Prime Minister of Poland. This open-air gallery illustrating the traits, traditions and charisma of the Order of Malta embellishes the streets of the Polish city, supplementing the exhibition of the celebrated baroque painter and Knight of Malta, Mattia Preti taking place in Łazienki Królewskie Museum.

From first aid interventions to disaster relief and summer camps for young disabled, the photographs exhibited depict the medical and social activities of the Order of Malta as well as its establishment in the 11th century and its role throughout history.

The exhibition is curated by the Polish association of the Order of Malta with the support of the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Poland: “We are very grateful to the Łazienki Królewskie Museum for organizing this open-air exhibition about the history and works of Order of Malta in Poland and abroad. This initiative exemplifies the strong ties that exist between the Republic of Poland and the Order of Malta and represents a unique opportunity to showcase the steadfast dedication of our members, our medical and support staff, and our many volunteers to the Order’s 900-year mission of serving our Lords the Sick and the Poor” stated Ambassador Niels Lorijn.

The open-air gallery was inaugurated on 19 October and will be running until the end of February 2024.

President Jacek Tarnowski and Vice President Maciej Koszutski have been invited by the Museum to give a lecture on the Order of Malta next January
