St John’s Day Celebrations in Warsaw

On the occasion of the feast of St John the Baptist, patron saint of the Sovereign Order of Malta, the
Embassy of the Order in Poland organised a Holy Mass at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army in
Warsaw, which was celebrated by His Excellency the Most Reverend Wiesław Lechowicz, Field Bishop of
the Polish Army.
The traditional reception hosted by Ambassador and Mrs Niels Carl A. Lorijn had to be cancelled
following the sudden death of H.E. the Lieutenant of the Grand Master, Fra’ Marco Luzzago, on 7 June
2022.
The Mass was attended by representatives of the Polish Government, the diplomatic corps, and
members of the Polish Association of the Order of Malta. Among the distinguished guests was H.E. Mr
Adam Kwiatkowski, Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland and
newly appointed Ambassador of Poland to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
