The eleventh edition of the Debutant Ball and International Maltese Day took place on 30-31 August 2023 in Warsaw under the High Patronage of the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the Republic of Poland and the skilful management of Alexandra Konarska, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy and Chair of the Organising Committee.
This year’s Debutant Ball was held at the Grand Theatre – National Opera of Warsaw with the participation of over 750 guests from Poland and abroad, including representatives of the world of arts, sciences, politics, diplomacy and business.
Launched in 1998 by Countess Jolanta Mycielska, President of the Association “POKOLENIA POKOLENIA”, the Debutant Ball has become one of Warsaw’s most anticipated social events. Two weeks of intense preparation under the supervision of choreographer Artur Dobrzański provided the 66 participating young men and women with a unique opportunity to expand their horizons, deepen their sense of tradition and social responsibility, and build lifelong friendships along the way.
On the second day, a piano concert and cultural visits of some of Warsaw’s major landmarks, followed by a well-attended after-party brought the two-day event to a successful conclusion.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to support ‘Project Rhodes’, a programme jointly managed by the Order of Malta and the Johanniter Order involving mobile teams that provide psychosocial support to children and adolescents in Ukraine.
